- Activity: Determine 4 pilot locations for implementing the project
- Prime: Resala in consultation with ICTDAR
- Outcome: 4 locations were selected in Cairo, Heliopolis, Alexandria and Fayoum
- Justification: Major cities with large numbers of target beneficiaries
- Remarks: The Giza center serves the needs of 250 visually impaired persons from the immediate area, as well as others from surrounding communities.

- Activity: Install 16 PCs, 2 Braille printers and 11 recorders

- Outcome: 16 PCs were provided and installed by MCIT
- Remarks: The Braille printers were paid for by Vodafone. 11 recorders are still outstanding

- Outcome: Purchased and installed 16 Ibsar SW packages
- Remarks: ICTDAR and Sakhr Software split the cost of the Ibsar SW.

- Training of Trainers - Giza.
- Activity: Train 10 people on Ibsar SW

- Outcome: Sakhr provided training for 10 people on its own premises from July 11 th. until July 16 th. The purpose is to build the skills and resources in Resala to meet the needs of the visually impaired persons in integrating information and communication technology to better accomplish their development activities.

- Activity: Provide technical and management guidance to the participating NGO - Resala Prime: ICTDAR
- Outcome: Resala will be able to roll out future centers with less involvement from ICTDAR

- Remarks: 150 visually impaired persons are taking training at the present time. In addition, many deaf & mute are utilizing the same facility to learn ICT skills.

- Remarks: To date, 100 visually impaired persons are regular users of the library.
