Najat Rochdi

Najat Rochdi, Regional Coordinator

Najat has extensive experience dealing with ICT for development issues.
She was Director in charge of e-Morocco, then she moved to Beirut as an UNDP ICTD policy adviser.
She came back to Morocco as a Deputy Minister in charge of Small and Medium Enterprise and e-services development until she moved to Cairo.
She was also closely involved in the formulation and drafting of Arab declaration of principle and platform for action as well as support to the organization of Arab ministerial meeting for the WSIS preparation.

Ziad Haddara

Ziad Haddara, Senior Programme Officer

Ziad has several years experience managing projects that use ICT as a tool for development, both in the private and public sectors. Prior to joining ICTDAR, Ziad was the UNDP Project Coordinator for the National e-Strategy in Lebanon, where he created the e-Strategy Implementation Plan in coordination with national stakeholders. In parallel, he worked on establishing full-service Community Access Centers in Lebanon. Preceding that, he worked in the United States as a project manager and consultant in digital business strategy projects.

Amira El Serafy

Amira El Serafy, Programme Officer

Amira holds a Bachelor and Diploma of Graphic & Advertising Design, from the Faculty of Applied Arts. She took the MCIT/IBM diploma in the track of Web & Multimedia Design, and got a Flash Designer certification from Macromedia.
Since 2003, she started working with UNDP Egypt. First, as an intern at the Information, Communication and Reporting Unit (ICR), then she worked as a web consultant till January 2004. By this time, she was responsible of designing the United Nations, the Global Compact & UNDP United News websites.
In March 2004, Amira joined the ICTDAR team as a web consultant, she developed the ICTDAR website.
Since September 2004, Amira is the Programme Officer of ICTDAR. She is responsible of the following up on ICTDAR development programs such as eGovernment portal and ICTARB project as well as developing ICTDAR website.

Yasmine Soliman

Yasmine Soliman, Admin Officer

Yasmine Soliman graduated from the American University in Cairo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Economics, June 2001. She also studied Business Administration for two years at Saint Mary’s University in Nova Scotia, Canada. Before this post, Yasmine worked as an English Instructor for the Future Generation Foundation Program (FGF) headed by Gamal Mubark. Yasmine has also worked in the fields of writing, editing and design.
Since joining the ICTDAR team in March 2004, Yasmine has handled all the operational and finance matters for the program.

Hesham Al-Naggar

Hesham Al Naggar, Programme Support Associate

Hesham is an IT engineer holding a bachelor degree in Computer Science. He worked with UNDP Egypt in the Technology Access Community Centers as an IT specialist then he spent 5 years with UNDP Syria as an international volunteer titled as an Information Management Team Leader and lately as a head of ICT4D program. Before joining ICTDAR, he worked with the Egyptian Ministry of Communication and Information as ICT4Education project manager. Currently, Hesham is responsible for the Human Rights CD initiative and the Free Open Source and Software based portal initiative.

Nadine Soliman

Nadine Soliman, Administrative Assistant

Nadine Hussein graduated from the American University in Cairo with high honors holding a BBA degree specializing in marketing in 2006. She previously worked in client-relations administration in Canada. During university she was a member of Alashanek-Ya-Balady, a social development club which promoted various development activities in Egypt. She has lived in Kuwait, Kenya and Canada. She joined ICTDAR in February 2007 and her main activities include the daily coordination of administrative matters in ICTDAR as well as other research and organizational tasks.
